Agreement
These Terms of Use govern your use of scanlanpro.biz (the “site”), published by ScanLAN Pro Publishing LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What the site is
The site is a free educational course about planning small-office networks and reviewing them with LizardSystems Network Scanner and tools built into Microsoft Windows. It contains explanations, examples, screenshots and commands. The example organisation, “Kestrel & Vale”, and its network are fictional.
Authorised use only
The techniques on this site are for use on networks and systems you own or are expressly authorised to administer. You agree not to use anything you learn here to scan, test, access or interfere with any network, system, account or data without the owner’s permission. Unauthorised scanning or access may break computer-misuse, privacy and other laws, including the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and equivalent laws elsewhere. You are solely responsible for obtaining authorisation and for complying with your organisation’s policies and applicable law.

The content is general information, not professional, legal or security advice for your specific situation. Networks differ; commands that are safe on one can disrupt another. Test changes, keep backups, and follow your change-control process.

Network Scanner is third-party software published by LizardSystems. We do not host, distribute, sell or support it. Your download and use of it are governed by the vendor’s own licence agreement (see the vendor’s licence page), and any purchase is between you and the vendor or its payment provider. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Content and trademarks
The text, course structure, diagrams and our own console screenshots are © 2026 ScanLAN Pro Publishing LLC. You may read, print and share links to the site, and quote short passages with attribution. You may not republish substantial parts of the course without our written permission.
Network Scanner and LizardSystems are trademarks of their respective owner. Microsoft, Windows, PowerShell and Active Directory are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Screenshots of Network Scanner are the vendor’s and are shown only to identify and teach the software. All other names and marks belong to their owners. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of this site.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANLAN PRO PUBLISHING LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. BECAUSE THE SITE IS FREE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO IT IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). Indemnity

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you a mandatory right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the site means you accept the update. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
